What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is therapy provided whilst the client is in a state of hypnosis. Hypnosis is a perfectly safe and natural state of mind and a powerful tool used to access the sub-conscious mind and create dramatic improvement. The state is wonderfully relaxing, very enjoyable and you are completely aware of what is going on throughout.
Guided by a trained hypnotherapist you can easily attain this state and become empowered to make beneficial changes, for example having more confidence, having a healthier and happier life, becoming a non-smoker, excelling at your favourite sport or correcting whatever behavioural habit or addiction.
Hypnotherapy is a kind of psychotherapy which aims to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome. It can be applied to many psychological, emotional and physical disorders.

No one can be hypnotised unless he / she agrees and co-operates. It is also important to note that whilst hypnotised, nobody can make you do anything which you do not want to do and should the need arise (for example a fire alarm going off) you would easily and safely be free to terminate this state.
At no time are you unconscious, you will hear the therapist’s voice, whilst enjoying this relaxing experience used to access your inner potential to encourage beneficial change. You remain in full control of the situation. A hypnotised person cannot be made to do anything against their usual ethical or moral judgement or religious belief.

Hypnosis- the facts

* You cannot ‘get stuck’ – it is impossible to do so
* You cannot be made to do or say anthing that you do not want to
* You do not go to sleep – you are aware of yourself and your surroundings at all times

*
You can leave the hypnotic state whenever you want to
* You cannot ‘lose your mind’ or be in anyway possessed’
* You will not suddenly blurt out any dark hidden secrets
* You are not in anybody else’s power and nobody can take control of you in any way.

Hypnoanalysis

The most involved form of therapeutic hypnosis is Hypnoanalysis , In the relaxed hypnotic state, the subconscious mind is more accessible. Analysis searches the subconscious for the root cause of the problem so the client can understand and resolve the origin of the problem rather than just treat the symptom. Once the underlying cause of the problem has been established, it can be resolved. As the root cause is resolved, there is no need for the undesired symptoms to exist anymore.

Please note that the results and effects of therapy may differ from client to client, as each client is unique and individual. No therapy can provide a 100% guaranteed cure.

I treat each client as an individual and am committed to client centred therapy. I will always ensure that you receive the best care that I can provide.
